Join Minecraft Server from Any Version
In this guide, we will show you how to customize your server to allow connections from multiple versions of Minecraft. Making a server cross compatible across multiple different versions is a crucial part while running a large public Minecraft server. This document covers how you can achieve this with ViaVersion and ViaBackwards.
Install Necessary Plugins
- 1 Click on the Plugins tab of your server.
- 2 Search for
ViaVersion
and click on the Install button to install the latest available version. - 3 Search for
ViaBackwards
and repeat the installation process. - 4 (Optional) This step is only necessary if you want compatibility with older clients such as 1.7 and 1.8)
- Search for
ViaRewind
and repeat the installation process.
Restart the Server
- Restart your Minecraft server, and it will now be compatible across lots of different versions supported by ViaBackwards and ViaVersion.
