Allow Flight in Survival Mode using GFly
In this tutorial, we will guide you step-by-step on how to enable flying on your Minecraft server using the GFly plugin. This plugin works best with PaperMC, Spigot, or Purpur servers. Although, PaperMC and Purpur are particularly recommended due to their advanced optimizations.
How to Enable Flying using GFly Plugin in Minecraft
Ensure you have the optimal server setup
- GFly plugin works best with PaperMC, Spigot, or Purpur servers. If you are setting up a new server, it is recommended to use either PaperMC or Purpur for their enhanced optimizations.
Installing the GFly Plugin
- To install the GFly plugin, you will need to access the plugin installer on your server dashboard.
- Once you have clicked on the Plugin tab, search for
GFly
as shown in the below screenshot. - Find the GFly plugin in the search result and click on the Install button to add it to your server.
- After the installation, restart your server to ensure that the GFly plugin is loaded correctly.
Installing LuckPerms
- To allow other players on your server to use the fly command, you will need to configure permissions using the LuckPerms plugin.
- If you don’t have it installed, follow the same process as above to install LuckPerms through the plugin installer. You can find more detailed instructions in our How to install and use LuckPerms guide.
Configuring Permissions with LuckPerms
- After installing LuckPerms, you may want to restrict the fly command to a specific group or player, you can use the in-game command
/lp group <group-name> permission set gfly.fly true
or/lp user <username> permission set gfly.fly true
, replacing<group-name>
and<username>
with your desired group or player. - If you want to configure LuckPerms further, see their Official Documentation
