Install a Minecraft Mod
This guide explains how to install a mod on your Minecraft server using the Minecraft Mods installer.
Access the Panel
- Log in to the panel. See Access the Panel for instructions.
- Click the Server you want to manage.
Confirm Server Software
Not all server types can run mods. Standard server software like Spigot, PaperMC, and its derivatives, Pufferfish, and Purpur, cannot run mods as they only support plugins.
Below is a table showing which server software supports mods. Note that the server software that supports mods is often not cross-compatible, so a mod made for Fabric will not run on Forge, even though both are made to be servers that support mods.

Open the Minecraft Mods Tab
- 1 If your server is running, click Stop to turn it off.
- Click the 2 Minecraft Mods tab.
- By default, this page searches for and shows mods from Modrinth.
- You can change the provider using the dropdown.
Install the Mod
- In this example, we’ll install
Simple Voice Chat. - 1 Search for the mod you want. Results will start showing up.
- 2 Click the Install icon.
- A modal will ask you to select a version. It tries to detect the right version automatically, but it can be wrong.
- 1 Click the dropdown and select the correct version if needed.
- Click 2 Install mod.
Start the Server and Verify Installation
- Click Start.
- If there are no errors in the console and the mod is registered, it was installed correctly.
