Install a Minecraft mod
This guide will explain how to install a Mod painlessly on your Minecraft server using our Mod installer tool.
Access Panel
- Log in to the panel. See Access the Panel for instructions.
- Click on the Server you want to manage.
Confirm Server Software
Not all server types can run mods. Standard server software like Spigot, PaperMC, and its derivatives, Pufferfish, and Purpur, cannot run mods as they only support plugins.
Below is a table showing which server software supports mods. Note that the server software that supports mods is often not cross-compatible, so a mod made for Fabric will not run on Forge, even though both are made to be servers that support mods.

Visit the Minecraft Mods tab
- 1 Turn the server off by clicking the stop button if your server is running.
- Click on the 2 Minecraft Mods tab.
- As you can see, you’ll be greeted with many mods already. By default, it searches for and shows mods from Modrinth; however, you can change the provider using the dropdown.
Install the Mod
- For the sake of this document, we’ll showcase the installation of Simple Voice Chat- a community favorite.
- 1 Search for the mod in question, such as
Simple Voice Chat. Results will start showing up. - 2 Click the Download icon.
- You will be confronted with a modal that asks you to select a version. This is important as it automatically detects the version you need, but it can be wrong. Modded Minecraft has different build/loader versions on top of different Minecraft versions.
- 1 Click the dropdown and select the correct version if needed.
- Click the 2 Install mod button.
Start the Server and Verify Installation
- Click the Start button.
- You can tell the mod was installed correctly due to no errors in the console and it being registered.
