Create a Counter-Strike 2 Server
This document will take you through the process of creating and setting up a CS2 server.
Create the server
- Go to your Inventory by clicking on Game Servers on the left side navigation menu.
- In the Inventory page where servers are displayed, click on the Create Server button.
- Now add the amount of resources desired to your server. The recommended base amount for CS2 servers that will run 10-man games are as follows:
- 2 vCores
- 4 GiB of RAM (Memory)
- 50 GiB Storage
- Pick an appropriate Location, this should be the one closest to your current location to ensure low latency during gameplay.
- Set the Game to
COUNTER-STRIKE 2
. - Create the server by clicking on Confirm Creation.
Configure the server
- Open the newly created server’s dashboard by clicking on its name.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Configure the game server’s properties based on how you wish to play the game.
- To change the default server map you can find the map codes here.
Start the server
- Start the server by clicking on the green Start button.
- Wait until the server is marked as
Running
, which means server startup has completed and players will be able to join. - Then, copy the IP and Port from your Dashboard, and launch Counter-Strike 2.
- Once in-game, open the console (make sure open console key is bound) and execute this command
connect IP
. - Replace
IP
with the IP address and Port that you copied from your Dashboard. Example:connect 185.207.164.1:31141
- Now you will begin connecting to the server. Enjoy!
